Dr. Anastasios Sotirchos is a Mechanical Engineer, University of Patras, with an M.Sc. in
Energy Production Systems and has a PhD in the Section of Industrial Management &
Operational Research in the School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA.
He is also a graduate of the Officers School of the Fire Academy, has Law Degree of the Law
School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a holder of a postgraduate
degree in Geopolitics and National Security Strategy from the Police Academy
Research Interest
Evaluation of projects and investments assesment, Decision support systems, Environmental
risk management, techno-economic analysis for public-private partnership projects.
He is a Senior Researcher at the UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy of
the National Technical University of Athens.
He is a retired Lieutenant General – Deputy Chief of the Fire Department, Technical and Legal
Advisor for Building Security Management and Industrial Installations, as well as a special
technical and judicial expert.
He has co-authored 1 book on the Technical and Economic Investments Assessment and
authored of Educational Textbooks for the Fire Brigade Academy in the subjects of Vehicle
Engineering, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Investigation and Administrative Law and a
textbook for the course ”Economic Consequences of Risks, Crises and Disasters” within the
framework of the MSc of the International Hellenic University, while he has published 18
Scientific Publications in Scientific Journals and Conferences as well as being a reviewer in
financial economics (Elsevier).
Finally, he was a professor at all Schools of the Fire Academy, Special Schools of the Armed
Forces, at the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government and
specialized seminar training programs of various private organizations and institutes, as well
as in postgraduate programs of the Fire Academy and the International Hellenic University.
