The Chair’s scientific team has coordinated or participated in numerus national or international research programmes. Some selected programmes are listed below, indicatively.

Strengthening youth entrepreneurship in Europe through innovation, with a view to Europe's energy autonomy in the context of the war on the territories of Ukraine.
The project outlines the implementation of a coherent program for youth employability to reinforce regional entrepreneurial ecosystems by engaging students and local talents in regional and interregional idea competitions.

Building a low-carbon, climate-resilient future: Research and innovation in support of the European Green Deal.
IMPETUS will develop and validate a coherent cross-sectoral climate change adaptation framework to accelerate the transition towards a climate-neutral and sustainable economy, empowering citizens and societal actors in the codesign of adaptation packages and related implementation pathways.

The aim of the project is to improve financial security provisions for ELD Annex III activities through the implementation of environmental risk assessment. Based on this assessment, financial security instruments will be produced or further elaborated in order to detect, prevent & remediate environmental damage.

The objectives of the project are:
• the use of modern waste collection and management systems, which promote fair and equal charging of sellers, through municipal taxes and according to how much they recycle
• reducing waste and increasing the recycling rate
• the integration and development of economic/social/ management tools in order to promote the separation of materials from landfills for recycling.

The aim of the European Project is to create synergies between agencies from different countries, with the aim of creating joint educational, innovative activities.

The object of the project is the analysis of the existing desalination technologies applied internationally, the requirements of the legislation, as well as the technical-economic parameters of such systems, with the aim of determining the technical specifications of a standard system, which will be harmonized with the principles of sustainable development, with mainly environmental protection.

The object of the project is the assessment of the effects of the Olympic Games (in continuation of a previous contract) in the axes: Economy, Culture, Environment and Society, based on the course of evaluation indicators and targeted questionnaires to the groups involved.

Organizing a Two-day Conference in Athens, on behalf of the German Consulting Company BIPRO GmbH.
The two-day conference was held at TEE on 23-24/04/07.
Object of the program: Informing the National Authorities about the importance of the correct implementation of the European Regulation on the Transboundary Transport of Waste, as well as about the need for increased support and cooperation between all the bodies involved.

Global mapping of natural flows and source stocks with the aim of forecasting Europe's waste quantities, as well as identification of the life cycle of environmental factors for waste reduction and recycling.

Scientific supervision of all sub-projects of the Coordinator Partner of the consortium "Social/Professional Rehabilitation in Recycling - Hope for the Environment", for the implementation of the project in the research program entitled: "Social and professional rehabilitation of People with Disabilities and Greek Indigenes through an electrical recycling program and e-waste in Greece" within the EQUAL Community Initiative.

Participation in the consortium of 28 entities entitled "NEW ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR THE NORTH AEGEAN - LIFE PROSPECT - K.P. EQUAL", with the aim of creating employment opportunities for people with special needs, in the context of activities related to recycling and the environment. Technical-economic study to investigate the possibilities of employment of disabled people in recycling centers.

“Applications of the Environmental Management System EMAS in tourist areas and recreation areas”.

The subject of this research program is the creation of an electronic European database network on the Internet (Electronic Waste Information Network) with information and data on waste management.
Objective is to study and implement the part of the research that concerns Greece, focusing on the technical and economic study of the system.

The subject of this research program is the theoretical and applied research on the recovery of energy from cotton residues, the design and construction of a pilot combustion unit, the environmental effects, as well as the research into alternative methods of exploiting the energy produced.
Objective is the treatment of the environmental problems associated with the research, as well as the study of "REVERSE LOGISTICS". (Planning the reversal of the problems that will be created by the combustion and the calculation/evaluation of the costs - benefits in different investment alternatives).
