The classes taught in the Inter-Institutional Interdepartmental Graduate Programme in Business Administration – Athens MBA, co-organized by the National Technical University of Athens and the Athens University of Economics and Business, are the following:
Sustainability, Health and Safety
This course explores the critical role of environmental and occupational health and safety management in sustainable business practices, within the broader context of circular economy principles. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of Sustainable Development, Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), including how these systems are designed, implemented, and evaluated. Core topics include eco-efficiency, ecodesign, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), and environmental impact assessment processes. Circular Economy models are integrated to help students understand resource flows and waste minimization. The course also covers Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management fundamentals, including risk assessment methodologies, human error analysis, accident investigation techniques, and relevant legal frameworks. By the end of the course, students are equipped to actively contribute to the sustainable, safe, and socially responsible operation of modern organizations.
Entrepreneurship
This course examines the evolving global economic and technological landscape, focusing on both macroeconomic trends and microeconomic dynamics that influence entrepreneurship, particularly within the European and Greek context. Topics include the emerging international division of labor, employment dynamics, and the environmental and societal implications of technological change. Students assess industrial policy, international competitiveness, production restructuring, and institutional transformations. Special emphasis is placed on entrepreneurship related to sustainability, the circular economy, and the creation of new business ventures that address environmental and social challenges. Through strategic analysis and business modeling, students explore how innovation and public policy can be leveraged to create viable and impactful green ventures. The course equips participants with the knowledge to interpret global developments and design entrepreneurial responses aligned with sustainable development goals.
