GREEN ALTERNATIVES FOR EUROPEAN AUTONOMY (GAEA) CHALLENGE PROGRAMME
Strengthening youth entrepreneurship in Europe through innovation, with a view to Europe's energy autonomy in the context of the war on the territories of Ukraine.
The proposed project, Green Alternatives for European Autonomy (GAEA) Challenge, outlines the implementation of a coherent program for youth employability to reinforce regional entrepreneurial ecosystems by engaging students and local talents in regional and interregional idea competitions. Building on the successful experience of the Greentech Challenge in Greece, GAEA will go beyond the current state-of-the-art
a) by widening the conceptual scope of challenges to address to include the dimension of the European autonomy reinforcement within an international context influenced by the war in Ukraine and
b) by interconnecting regional ecosystems in a cross-cultural initiative designed to last beyond the 28 months period of the project.
IMPETUS
Building a low-carbon, climate Resilient future: Research and innovation in support of the European Green Deal.
IMPETUS will develop and validate a coherent cross-sectoral climate change adaptation framework to accelerate the transition towards a climate-neutral and sustainable economy, empowering citizens and societal actors in the codesign of adaptation packages and related implementation pathways.
The key enabler is the Resilience Knowledge Boosters (RKBs) intended as a space where all relevant stakeholders gather to co-create, demonstrate, monitor and assess the climate adaptation pathways for sustainable adaptation and resilience. RKBs also have a virtual dimension .
IMPETUS also builds on the demonstration of innovative technical, nature-based, governance, financing and public engagement solutions.

LIFE PROFILE
Promote financial instruments for liability on environment.
Environmental Liability is a priority domain in EU policy on the protection of biodiversity, water & land. Directive 2004/35/EC on environmental liability (ELD) entered to force in 2007 & established strict liability for operators of Annex III activities.
The aim of the project is to improve financial security provisions for ELD Annex III activities through the implementation of environmental risk assessment. Based on this assessment, financial security instruments will be produced or further elaborated in order to detect, prevent & remediate environmental damage.
FOREST LIFE
Building cooperation, developing skills and sharing knowledge for Nature 2000 forests in Greece.
The project LIFE ForestLife aims to enhance dissemination and exchange of knowledge, information and best practices and to foster cooperation between all parties involved in the management of forest ecosystems in Natura 2000 sites in Greece.
To achieve its objectives, the project will develop an online Collaboration Platform for Forests (CPF) of the Natura 2000 sites of Greece, it will publish guidelines and will train the personnel of the Greek Forest Service and other organisations that work on forest conservation and management. It will also develop an application for smart mobile devices and will deploy several communication and public awareness actions.
