Multicriteria Analysis for the Ranking of Employment Sectors in the Regional Units of Evros and Rodopi.
The event marking the 70th anniversary of the Eugenides Foundation was successfully held in Alexandroupolis, where Professor Aravossis presented a study conducted within the framework of a strategic research collaboration between the UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the Eugenides Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
On behalf of the UNESCO Chair, a model multicriteria analysis methodology was developed with the aim of identifying, in a well-documented manner, the sectors with the greatest development potential at the local level.
In Rodopi, the sectors that emerged as having the strongest potential were Bakery Products Manufacturing and the Pharmaceutical Industry, while in Evros the sectors of Cleaning Services and Social Care Activities stood out.
The model developed can serve as a robust strategic planning tool, capable of supporting targeted employment policies, investment priorities, and sustainable local development.
Special thanks are extended to the former Rector of NTUA and Governor of the Eugenides Foundation, Professor Ioannis Golias , for his continuous support and guidance.
