Professor Aravossis delivered a talk at the BLUE HERITAGE FORUM, organized by BEYOND CSR in Florina, titled “Blue & Green Tech, Circular Economy, and Startups.”
The event offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue among distinguished representatives from the political, business, and academic spheres, focusing on the sustainable and fair development of Western Macedonia, with innovative green and energy-related investments at the core.
In his presentation, he emphasized the key role of green innovative technologies and startups in driving the Circular Economy.
He highlighted specific targets in recycling, waste-to-energy, biomass management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, industrial symbiosis, and water management, noting that real progress in these areas depends on the adoption of new, cutting-edge solutions.
He also expressed his optimism that Greece will see a growing number of domestically developed green technologies, as the climate for collaboration between research centers and businesses has improved significantly.
He pointed to the availability of substantial resources, strong political will, and the promising potential of Greek university graduates, who are increasingly engaging in applied research and startup ventures in the fields of circular economy and sustainability.
