Participation in the 2nd INVEST in Greece Conference

Participation in the 2nd INVEST in GREECE Conference
Professor K. Aravossis participated as a speaker in the 2nd INVEST in GREECE Conference, organized by the Law Library with the support of Enterprise Greece.
As a member of a distinguished panel, Professor Aravossis highlighted a key issue for investment in Greece: the impact of the national environmental regulatory framework on investment activity.
His presentation focused on:
-
- The new obligations arising from the National Climate Law and the Circular Economy Roadmap,
- The mandatory annual reporting by large companies on their carbon footprint and reduction targets,
- The (voluntary) adoption of ESG standards,
- The environmental assessment of investments according to the EU Taxonomy for sustainable finance,
as well as the growing requirements for zero waste, full waste valorization, industrial symbiosis, and energy recovery from waste.
Professor Aravossis emphasized that while these regulatory requirements present challenges, they also offer significant opportunities for growth in innovative green sectors. They support the creation of new jobs and strengthen business competitiveness through a green and circular transition to modern operational models.
