The UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy at Verde.Tec 2025

The UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) will participate in the 7th International Exhibition Verde.Tec, which will take place from February 21 to 23, 2025, at the Mediterranean Exhibition Center (MEC) in Paiania.

During the exhibition, the Chair will have a dedicated booth, providing visitors with information about its activities and initiatives related to green innovation and circular economy. Representatives of the Chair will be available to engage with stakeholders, businesses, academic institutions, and policymakers to discuss current challenges, explore potential collaborations, and exchange knowledge on sustainability and innovation. 

Presentation of Key Findings from GR-I-CE 2024

On Sunday, February 23, from 11:00 to 12:30, the UNESCO Chair will hold a special session titled “GR-I-CE 2024: Key Findings of the 1st International Conference on Green Innovation and Circular Economy” 

The GR-I-CE 2024 conference hosted discussions with institutional stakeholders, universities, media, NGOs, and businesses to examine the challenges and opportunities of the green transition. Roundtables  were organized with the participation of key organizations such as RAAEY, EEDSA, and PASEPPE, alongside contributions from InCommon, SOFFA, and the Hatzigakis Foundation, while representatives of the international academia presented the latest research on green innovation and circular economy.

The session at Verde.Tec 2025 will summarize the main findings of these discussions, with a focus on: 

  • The role of stakeholders in promoting the green transition
  • Innovative business applications and technological advancements
  • Contributions from international research in the field of circular economy

Promoting the Principle of “Active Green Citizens”

The UNESCO Chair is also co-organizing the event “Active Green Citizens: The Role of Youth in the Green Transition” in collaboration with envinow.gr, on Sunday 23 from 16:00 to 18:00. This session will explore the involvement of young people in environmental sustainability efforts, addressing both the opportunities and challenges they face. The event aims to foster dialogue on youth engagement in the green transition, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and networking.
