Koralia Vallianou Junior Researcher
Education
Koralia Vallianou has an integrated master level diploma in Forestry and Natural Environment from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with special focus in Forest Informatics and a Master Degree in Environmental Policy and Biodiversity Conservation (with full scholarship) from the University of Aegean, Greece. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Geographical Information Systems (G.I.S.) from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Research Interest
Formulation and implementation of environmental policy, prevention and recovery of environmental disasters, protection of the biodiversity, sustainable management of ecosystems, natural disaster community resiliency and recovery.
She is a Junior Researcher at the UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy of the National Technical University of Athens.
Furthermore, she was a Consultant of the Secretary General for Forestry at the Ministry of Environment and Energy and also a member of the Organizing Committee of the national innovation program “Greentech Challenge by ESU NTUA”.
Since 2019, she is a Senior Researcher for Environmental Education and Communication from the Academy of Environmental Educators of the University of West Attica Greece and has participated in the creation of “Environmental Education and awareness” educational material, addressed to primary school students. She has published papers in scientific journals and international conferences.
