imprint on the international scientific and professional map. The conference was organized by the UNESCO Chair on Green Innovation and Circular Economy at\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">NTUA<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, held by Professor Konstantinos Aravossis, in collaboration with Mantis Beyond Innovation and a network of scientific and institutional partners. Bringing together more than 1,000 participants, the event featured three days of intensive dialogue, 150 scientific papers, 19 panels, over 10 special sessions, daily B2B meetings, and a two-day hackathon, culminating in a conference that exceeded all\u00a0previous\u00a0milestones in scale.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">GR-I-CE 2026 hosted high-level scientific sessions covering key thematic areas such as waste\u00a0utilization, resource recovery, sustainable materials, green technologies, circular design, environmental economics, climate resilience, biomass, maritime sustainability, as well as policy, governance, and strategic planning.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In\u00a0parallel,\u00a0roundtables\u00a0and\u00a0panel\u00a0discussions\u00a0were\u00a0conducted\u00a0in\u00a0both\u00a0Greek and\u00a0English,\u00a0featuring\u00a0representatives\u00a0from\u00a0Research\u00a0Institutions, the\u00a0Government,\u00a0Regulatory\u00a0Authorities,\u00a0Local\u00a0Government, Industry,\u00a0Education, and Civil Society.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">One\u00a0of the\u00a0most\u00a0dynamic\u00a0aspects\u00a0of GR-I-CE 2026\u00a0was\u00a0its\u00a0focus\u00a0on\u00a0actionable\u00a0outcomes\u00a0and\u00a0synergies\u00a0rather\u00a0than\u00a0just\u00a0research\u00a0and\u00a0policy. He emphasized that, with proper planning, energy recovery can complement recycling efforts and contribute to diverting waste from landfills.
